Are you struggling to consistently accomplish your goals each week?
One of the biggest mistakes most people make is waiting until Monday to schedule their action items for the upcoming week.
Planning on Sunday is one of the most vital aspects for creating the foundation to a successful week. Not only does it give you the opportunity to plan your week after you’ve had Saturday to recharge, it also gives you the ability to plan with focus, calm and clarity before the Monday chaos begins.
It’s also best to schedule your planning session for first thing on Sunday morning. Planning with a fully charged battery at the start of the day will make you much more efficient and enable you to stay on course with your purpose for the week as you plan.
It’ll also enable you to take the remainder of your Sunday as a day for rest and relaxation!
Sunday Morning Weekly Planning
Start by asking yourself these questions:
- What is my main goal this coming week?
- What are the 3-5 most critical actions to accomplish this week in support of my main goal?
- What 3 daily actions will support my goal for the week?
- How will these actions fit into my bigger priority and purpose?
Then spend 30-60 minutes calibrating.
This requires blending the planning of your day-to-day actions with the big picture and considering how to use your time thoughtfully to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency. The best way to do this is to schedule time blocks each day for the 3 actions that you have predetermined to be the most important and allow time to recharge in between each action.
Strive to accomplish 1-2 actions each day and continually focus on your bigger vision for the week.
