I watch Good Morning America religiously every morning while I’m getting ready to go to work. A couple of months ago there was this absolutely fabulous segment with Amy Robach titled “How Much Are You Lugging In Your Purse?” This instantly sparked my attention because I am the first to admit that I carry around a ‘Mary Poppins’ purse! You name it, it’s in my bag. While this is great when you are always on-the-go and need something…it’s not so great when all you do is complain about back, neck, arm, and shoulder pain! I would even go as far to say that my hip pain is probably caused from how I adjust myself to carry my 1,000 lb bag. (Shhhhhhh! That’s a secret that I will never admit to!)
Amy Robach definitely gave some interesting tips. I’ve included the video segment below:

I’m definitely guilty of NEVER cleaning out my purse, which is why it’s probably soooo heavy! So I thought I would help, and maybe take some tips from myself.
How to keep less in your purse:
-
Evaluate your purse
-
What do you honestly use every day?
-
From those items that are a must, what are you able to leave in your desk and/or car?
-
What items now are left as a must for your purse?
-
Adjustments To Your Purse Life
-
Is your purse massive?
-
Do you know that if your purse is big, you will fill it up? Or are you in denial about this fact? (**I’ll admit that I’m in denial about this, I always say I’ll never fill it up )
-
If you are not in denial, then downsize your purse.
-
Make sure your desk and car have the item they need in them and that your purse no longer does (tissues, lint roller, medications, etc.)
-
Live The Small-Purse Life
-
Once you’ve downsized and made sure additional needs are met by your car or desk, take your NEW, SMALLER purse out.
-
At the end of the week, sit for a minute and recall any time that you didn’t have something that you needed.
-
Evaluate whether or not that ruined your day.
-
Evaluate whether or not you were able to find the item somewhere else.
These are all great tips and I know that I will definitely try to implement this into my life!
